The optimal solution for using full-featured Linux on Windows is to use the built-in WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux). WSL does not require installing a dual-boot system or traditional virtual machines, and it is a completely free, official Microsoft solution and a built-in Windows solution. This document introduces how to install and initially set up WSL, and how to configure and optimize Windows Terminal to use WSL.
